What is the complimentary, no-obligation, in-home assessment?  We’ll come to your home to assess your needs and discuss all possible care options with you.  With a personalized care plan and some support from qualified caregivers, most seniors are able to stay in their own homes.  Even if you choose not to use our services, you will be better informed about which services are available for you.

Is Home Care a cost effective alternative to institutional care? Yes, Home Care is an affordable option. Most people would prefer to remain in their own home and we help make this dream a reality.  One of the most common misconceptions about private nursing is that it’s a luxury reserved for the wealthy as many people could not afford ongoing 24-hour care, but the majority of our clients only need a few hours of support a day, some only require support a few times a week or month.

Are Home Care services available 24 hours a day?  Yes, we design your individual care plan together based on your specific needs and we can adjust as your care needs change.  We can provide care as needed from 2 - 24 hours a day or 24-hr Live-in Care.

Does Shylo advocate on behalf of your clients? Shylo has always prided itself as a company that truly cares about their community. We can arrange any healthcare equipment required in a client’s home, we consult with physicians and other community healthcare professionals in regards to a client’s nursing care, we are also happy to provide regular reports to family members living out of town on their loved-ones condition (only with the prior knowledge and approval of the client of course).

Are healthcare fees covered by my insurance? We can help you look into insured benefits you may already be insured for, as well as government-subsidized services you may qualify for through your municipal health authority.

Are our fees are tax deductible? Yes, our Home Care services are eligible for income tax deduction and we supply annual tax receipts for our clients.
* We encourage everyone to review the tax implications with your accountant as deductions are dependent on your personal annual income and total healthcare fees paid in one calendar year.

Is Shylo is an established, reliable, home healthcare company?  When you consider allowing caregivers into your home, you want to ensure you hire an experienced, professional agency with an excellent reputation.  We ensure that all of our staff are thoroughly screened before being hired and we carry liability and WCB insurance which most private caregivers, and even some cheaper agencies, do not - don’t leave yourself open to risk, you can be held responsible if a private caregiver injures themselves while in your employment.  We are happy to supply references from current, long-term clients.
